In April 2018, the International Department of Shude High School successfully passed the comprehensive review conducted by IBO for authorized schools every five years. The International Department has been keeping a high international standard in terms of faculty qualifications, educational ideas, teaching quality and facilities. Its schooling capability has been fully affirmed by the IBO.

The International Baccalaureate (IB) is an international curriculum that is registered and accredited by UNESCO, specifically designed for the children of senior executives abroad (such as diplomatic envoys) and outstanding secondary school students around the world. The authorization of IB is extremely strict because the IBO will conduct a rigorous review of the target school and comprehensively evaluate the capability of the school to run a school. At the same time, in order to ensure the quality of the operation of IB member schools around the world, each IB member school must follow the Programme Standards and Practices, which is a globally applicable standard issued by IBO. Moreover, IBO will irregularly visit the member schools for inspection, and thoroughly review them every five years.

In last November, the IBO Review Team officially visited the International Department. Before that, we had prepared a large amount of self-evaluation materials, then officially submitted materials in last April. As the entire review process was extremely rigorous, it took more than one year since the preparation work started, before we finally receive the notice of passing the review this April.

Since the first IB class, the growing class average score of IB Global Unified Test testifies our steady development. The average score of the first IB class was 32.85 (3 higher than the global average score that year), and the average score of last year’s graduate class was 37.5 (7 higher than the global average score). These achievements indicate that it is a common fact for us to surpass way beyond the global average performance, yet it is of greater value for us to keep breaking through!
